Artwork FAQs
All of my work is originally drawn by hand. That’s what makes my artwork special! I sell both original and printed work. In order to make my work more affordable and accessible, the original hand-drawn designs are scanned and printed onto the selected products, such as art prints, cards, etc. Each product description will let you know if you are purchasing an original or a print. All custom work is 100% originally done by hand, unless otherwise requested.
Yes! I can make simple changes or additions to an existing design, recreate any of my designs into something new, or create something original from scratch. Simply fill out a custom artwork request form and let me know what you have in mind!

Henna FAQs
Henna is actually a flowering plant or shrub known by its Latin name Lawsonia inermis, commonly called ‘the henna tree’! The plant leaves are picked, dried, and then ground into a fine green powder. For the purpose of using henna for dyeing or staining the skin, the henna powder is blended with water or lemon juice, sugar, and essential oils to create a smooth paste. This paste is left to set for about 24 hours as the lawsome molecules are released to develop colouring properties, and the paste starts to turn brownish. When this paste is applied to the body the dye is transferred onto the top few layers of your skin. Fascinating right?!
Same thing, different name! Mehndi comes from ancient Sanskrit, making this a more common term used in the Indian Subcontinent. Henna is an Arabic term, and has become more widely used in the Western world. Both Henna and Mehndi have various linguistic pronunciations and spellings.
I work with only 100% naturally organic and safe henna. This henna paste has a brownish colour, and provides a fully developed stain that is a dark brown or mahogany colour. The exact shade will depend on many biological and topical factors. I do not work with any other colour of henna, such as black, white, or red, as they contain unnatural chemicals and additives which can be harmful to the skin and body health.
Henna is a paste which is applied directly onto the skin. Within 30 minutes the paste will dry up and begin to peel off. During that time, the stain already begins to manifest! At first, the fresh stain will leave a rich orange colour. Over the course of 50 hours, the stain will develop into shades of brown which can vary from mahogany, medium brown, or dark brown. The gradual development of the stain is a sign that the henna is 100% natural and organic. The exact shade of the fully developed stain will depend on a few factors such as your body chemistry with henna, which part of the body the henna is applied on, the quality of the henna powder and paste, and aftercare processes.
Henna stains on the skin can last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, depending on how deep the stain is and how well the aftercare processes are followed.
Here are some aftercare tips that may help the henna stain last longer:
- Ensure that your hands are clean, dry, and warm at the time of application.
- Keep the henna on for at least 10-12 hours.
- Keep your body as warm as possible, as henna stains develop best in warm temperatures.
- Remove the henna paste by peeling or scrapping it off.
- Avoid using water near the stain for 24 hours after removing the paste.
- Massage (coconut or olive) oil onto the henna stain to create a protective layer.
- Avoid harsh chemicals, soaps and exfoliants, such as those found in detergents, cleansers, scrubs, sanitizers, and chlorine.
- Feel free to use this as an excuse to pass off dishes duty!
